Mask, Ivory Carved Bearded Seal Hunting Mask
Mammoth and walrus ivory used in this mask featuring the bearded seal. Flippers, fish, head and tail surround the outside of the circular mask. The circular ring is baleen, red ochre and ink pigment used flippers and tail. This is a traditional Yupik mask. Created by Alvin David, from Mekoryuk, on Nunivak Island.
